Abstract

The research aims to improve learning activities and learning outcomes  of class X PHP 2 SMK Negeri 5 Jember using guided inquiry approach. This research was a classroom action research and the design of this study uses  Kemmis and Mc. Taggart’s model. Techniques to collect the data were observation, test, documentation and interview. The results showed that the application of the guided inquiry approach can improve learning activities and student learning outcomes in each cycle. In the pre-cycle, the average percentage of learning activities amounted to 54.37% and the average of learning outcomes amounted 43,75. In the cycle 1, the average percentage of learning activities amounted to 80.94% and the average of  learning outcomes amounted 67.9. In the cycle 2, the average percentage of learning activities amounted to 87.94% and  the average of learning outcomes amounted 72.3.
