Publication Ethics
This ethical statement should be complied by parties involved in all editorial and publishing processes in this journal including Editors, Reviewers, Authors, and Publishers. This statement is very important to uphold publication ethics during editorial process at Journal Of Early Childhood Education And Research (JECER). Journal Of Early Childhood Education And Research (JECER) strives to make scientific contributions through a rigorous editorial and review process. Therefore, all parties involved should agree on and adhere to standards of ethical behavior.
DUTIES OF EDITORS
Fairness
Editors should evaluate manuscripts and oversee the review process fairly without regard to the author's race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, and political philosophy. The editor ensures that the manuscript has been corrected according to suggestions and is fit for publication. Furthermore, editors should suggest their recommendations to the chief editor.
Confidentiality
Editors should ensure the confidentiality of any information in manuscripts prior to publication. The information contained in the manuscript is needed only for review and editing purposes due to it still in an unpublished status.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
The editor-in-chief and all editorial members will not use any data, findings and information contained in unpublished manuscripts for their own research purposes or other interests without the written consent from the author. Editors will refuse to handle manuscripts where they have a conflict of interest (collaborative relationship, competitive relationship, or otherwise) with authors in the manuscript and ask other members of the editor who do not have a conflict of interest to handling the manuscript.
Manuscript Review
The editor understands that manuscripts that enter the journal must be handled by editors who are experts in the field of the submitted manuscript. Therefore, the Editor in Chief will conduct an initial review to see the suitability of the manuscript with the aims and scope of the journal. If the manuscript is eligible for further processing, the editor-in-chief will assign one of the editorial member with expertise in the field of the submitted manuscript. The assignment aims to evaluate the content and academic contribution of the manuscript and then the editor will also assign reviewers who are experts in the field of the submitted manuscript.
DUTIES OF REVIEWERS
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
The reviewer will assist the editor in evaluating the manuscript content in depth. The reviewer will look at the scholarly contribution of a manuscript and ensure there are no errors in the content. based on the evaluation results, the reviewer will provide recommendations to the editor in making decisions.
Promptness
The reviewer can refuse a request for a review from the editor if there is a conflict of interest or there are other obstacles that could hinder the review process. The reviewer can convey the rejection to the editor through the journal system.
Confidentiality
Every manuscript that enters the journal system is a confidential document and containing primary data. Therefore, reviewers are not permitted to distribute the manuscript for other purposes during peer review process because it will harm the author.
Standards of Objectivity
The reviewer should review the manuscript objectively by providing scientific comments or arguments. Reviewers may not use political, racial, and religious reasons in reviewing manuscripts.
Acknowledgment of Sources
The reviewer must ensure that all references are relevant to the manuscript topic. Furthermore, the reviewer must see whether all sources have been cited correctly and included in the bibliography.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Important findings in manuscripts during the peer review process are not allowed to be used for the personal benefit. Reviewers must avoid conflicts of interest including competition or certain relationships with authors or their affiliation.
DUTIES OF AUTHORS
Reporting Standards
Authors should present reports accurately with an emphasis on novelty and scientific contributions. Authors should write objectively in accordance with the article writing standards set by Journal Of Early Childhood Education And Research (JECER). Authors should present primary data that supports research findings. Articles must contain sufficient and relevant references to support the findings and data contained in the article. Authors are not allowed to manipulate data and manipulate findings because this is unethical behavior.
Originality and Plagiarism
Author must ensure that there is no element of plagiarism at the submitted manuscript. If there are data and sentences that are the work of other people, the author must cite the work according to the proper citation format.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors may not submit their manuscripts to other journals before the review process at Journal Of Early Childhood Education And Research (JECER) is complete (with a rejection decision). Submitting and publishing articles in several journals at the same time is against ethics.
Source Acknowledgment
Authors should cite relevant, primary, and influential references to the findings in the manuscript. All references must be cited according to the provisions and written on the list of references. Recognition to previous work must be made by all authors who publish their articles on Journal Of Early Childhood Education And Research (JECER) as a form of recognition and appreciation.
Data Access and Retention
To maintain the quality of the manuscript, the author may be asked to provide raw data regarding the manuscript during the editorial process and when it has been published, the author must be provided public access to that data or through the request from readers.
Declaration of Competing Interest
Author(s) should declare that there is no conflict of interest that can affect the manuscript content, editorial process, peer review process, and published articles.
Notification of Fundamental Error
The author is obliged to notify the editor if fundamental errors are found in their own published article. The editor will ask the author to explain these mistakes and will be followed up according to the provisions of the Journal Of Early Childhood Education And Research (JECER).
Image Integrity
Authors are not allowed to change or remove images that related to data manipulation due to this against the ethis. However, the author may change the image only to change the brightness or increase the resolution in order to improving the manuscript quality.
Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects
If the research work involves chemicals, human, animals, procedures or equipment that have any unusual hazards inherent in their use, the author should clearly state in the cover letter during submission. At cover letter, authors should declare that the authors has received an informed consent from human as research subject. In addition, authors should also comply with ethical clearance guidelines (for the research work involves chemicals, animals, procedures or equipment) made by relevant laws, institutional guidelines, and the appropriate institutional committee(s) and have authority to approved them.
DUTIES OF PUBLISHER
Indexing Process
Publisher should ensure published article metadata is immediately indexed in several indexers that indexing Journal Of Early Childhood Education And Research (JECER). Publishers will communicate published articles to indexers after the last issue is published and hopefully could increase the author's academic profile.
Assist Editors with Technical, Procedural & legal support
Publisher should assist the editor-in-chief, editorial members, and reviewers in preparing review documents. In addition, publishers will assist editors in understanding legal reviews during the editorial process or if there are fundamental errors in published articles.
