Publishing System
All authors must be aware that all submissions to the Journal of Southeast Asian Human Rights (JSEAHR) must go through a review and production process. JSEAHR will attempt to process and publish all accepted manuscripts as soon as possible. Yet, it must be noted that JSEAHR values a high standard of publication for all articles. The editorial team may communicate with authors if there is a belief that a substantial element must be enhanced to meet the standard of quality for publication.
The first step of publication, after review and revision, is proofreading. JSEAHR is committed to providing professional language proofreaders for non-English native authors. JSEAHR provides language proofreaders as part of our commitment to producing free and open knowledge for readers.
Next, the editorial team will return the proofread manuscript to the author, before sending it to the copy editor. Once this process is done, the manuscript is ready for publication.
It is common for all accepted manuscripts to undergo a 60-day process prior to publication. Yet, some articles require additional processing time, depending on the number of manuscript submissions to JSEAHR.
ACADEMIC FREEDOM
JSEAHR is part of CHRM2, the University of Jember, and SEPAHAM Indonesia strategic policy to disseminate knowledge and educate readers on human rights. To meet this high expectation, the Journal always complies with academic freedom in order to provide a neutral and balanced platform for all authors.
Manuscripts will be published or declined after the editorial board examines the quality of knowledge. The invitation for authors will not guarantee the acceptance of their manuscripts.
The Journal accepts special issues of articles published in one volume after the person in charge of the special issue declares that she/he will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the manuscripts. The editorial office may offer this role as long as there is an agreement between the person in charge of the special issue with the editor in chief on how the publication process will be undertaken by the editor in chief.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST
It is solely the author's responsibility to disclose any commercial or associations that potentially result in a conflict of interest after the publication of the manuscript. Thus, the author must properly cite funding sources in the last section of the manuscript. If there is a complaint from institutions after the publication, it is solely under the author's responsibility.
