Editorial Policy

As a platform dedicated to providing thoughtful and scholarly works, VALUE: Journal of Business Studies is committed to publishing high-quality manuscripts. The Journal emphasizes fundamental issues with either empirical or theoritical approaches and multidisciplinary approaches are strongly encouraged to the submission. It aims to provide a leading forum for the enhancement of communication between researchers and policymakers on the recent development of services and technology management, and tourism and hospitality areas.

 

Focus and Scope

VALUE: Journal of Business Studies is multidisiplinary in scope and interdisiplinary in content and methodology. It welcomes articles related to (1) the activities, strategies, structures and decision making processes of profit and non-profit organization or enterprises; (2) interactions between national or multinational enterprises and other actors, organizations, institutions and markets; (3) the cross-border activities of firms (e.g., B-to-B trade, finance, investment, technology transfers); (4) how the business environment (e.g., cultural, economic, legal, political) affects the activities, strategies, structures and decision-making processes of firms; (5) the dimensions of organizational forms (e.g., strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions) and activities (e.g., entrepreneurship, knowledge-based competition, corporate governance); and (6) comparative studies of businesses, business processes and organizational behavior in different demographics, countries and environments.

 

Submission

As part of our policy, all authors are particularly required to ensure that manuscripts have been written well in English (UK) or Bahasa (Indonesian). Alternatively, authors are highly encouraged to use citation tools like Zotero and Mendeley that provide various citation styles to ease the manuscript's citation to be written correctly.

It is solely the author’s responsibility to ensure that the manuscript submitted to the Journal is original and plagiarism free. Editors have the right to decline the submission when it is found that the manuscript is detected with plagiarism. All manuscripts will be reviewed through a doubled blind review by our reviewers. The Journal, after manuscripts receive comments and suggestions from reviewers, has the rights to accept or reject manuscripts have been submitted to the Journal.

Due to a very high number of manuscripts submitted to the Journal, we normally need at least three months prior to our decision whether manuscripts are accepted for publication or rejected from publication. However, all authors are advised to submit manuscripts earlier than three months from the regular date of publication as it is our standard by which all articles should pass rigorous reviews before the publication. 

All contents of the Journal are freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this Journal. The Journal does not request financial payment from authors. All published articles can be accessed online for free.

 

Peer Review Process

Submitted manuscripts will be pre-reviewed by the editors. The Editor(s) will determine whether the manuscripts have conformed to the submission guidelines of the Journal. Manuscripts which have conformed to the Journal’s style will be peer-reviewed. The Journal applies a double-blind peer-review process which involves reviewers of experts in the relevant field of economic and business studies. Final decision of manuscript acceptance is solely decided by the editors according to reviewers' comment.

Plagiarism and self-plagiarism are not allowed. The Journal encourages authors to ensure their manuscript is original and plagiarism free. However, the Journal uses a plagiarism tool to screen manuscripts before they are published. Detection of overlapping and similar text is used there and so quotations and appropriate citations have to be used whenever required.

The editorial board makes a decision upon the reviewer's comments or advice. The task of reviewers is to give an assessment on originality, clarity of presentation, contribution to the field/science. The Journal has four kinds of decisions regarding the submission as follows:

1. Accepted

2. Accepted with Minor Revisions (let authors revised with stipulated time)

3. Accepted with Major Revisions (let authors revised with stipulated time)

4. Rejected (generally, on grounds of the outside of scope and aim, major technical description problems, lack of clarity of presentation) 

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

This journal is open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to users or / institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to full text articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or author. This is in accordance with Budapest Open Access Initiative.

Publication Frequency

This Journal publishes articles twice a year every May and November the Journal publishes minimum 5 articles in one issue.

 

Article Processing Charges

The submission and publication of articles in this Journal do not charge any article processing fees. Otherwise, authors are recommended to submit their articles in Indonesian or English languages.

 

Archiving Policy

This Journal utilizes the LOCKSS and CLOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. All content in the CLOCKSS Archive and the Global LOCKSS Network is preserved with explicit publisher permission, secured via a written contract or through online permission statements. We work closely with LOCKSS network implementers to facilitate the development of governance and legal terms that are appropriate to the implicated content, jurisdictions, rights, and access affordances. Our work also licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.
