PENGEMBANGAN BAHAN AJAR IPA BERBASIS PENDEKATAN SAINS TEKNOLOGI MASYARAKAT (STM) PADA POKOK BAHASAN LIMBAH DAN PENANGANANNYA KELAS XI SEKOLAH MENENGAH KEJURUAN (SMK)
Abstract
Abstrak. Learning material is one of factor that supports implementation of curriculum. Therefor, it needs innovation of learning materilas, for instance integration of learning approach within learning materials. Sains Technology Society (STS) approach is one of approach that can be used. STS approach is able to fasilitate students to identify, gather data and solve the problems of science and technology in society. The purpose of this study was to develop and examine of learning materials based on Science Technology Society (STS) approach in the waste and handling subject of class XI Vocational School. This research refered to 4-D model (define, design, develop and deseminate) by Thiagarajan, but the deseminate step was limited to nine students. This research used six validators to assess the quality of the book and nine students to test the result of developmental book. Data was obtained from student and teacher questionnaires, validator sheets, questionnaires of the legitility and difficulty level, and student’s response questionnaires. The analysis of data was used percentage data analysis technique. The result of this research revealed that learning material based on STM has been strong valid with 87,05% score. It means that it can be used in learning process directly. Meanwhile 81,12% and 85,40% students gave positive respon as a result of the legitility and difficulty level, and student’s response questionnaires, respectively. These results indicated that the learning materials based on STM not only have passed the validation and revision steps, but also it has to review a complete waste and handling subject that fulfill the vocational student needs. In conclusion, the learning material based on STM approach in the waste and handling subject f class XI Vocational Schools is strong recommended to use.
