Abstract

Abstract. PAIKEM was a learning approach. GI (Group Investigation) was the example of PAIKEM. Group Investigation is a model which put students into heterogeneous groups with their different ability and background such as gender, ethnic, and religion to investigate toward topic discussion. The type of this research was CAR (Classroom Action Research). The purpose of this research was to increase students character and learning achivement using PAIKEM through GI. Result of this research, there wasan improving character from pre cycle until cycle 2 that was discipline character increased on MK (Start Consistent) with percentage 65%. Then responsibility character increased on MK (Start Consistent) with percentage 55%. Inquiring sense character worked up to MB (Start Growing) with percentage 67.5% and hard-working character increased on MB (Start Growing) with percentage 60% and cognitive learning achievement of students increased 40%, affective learning achievement of students increased 30% and psychomotor learning achievement of students increased 40%.
