Abstract

Abstract. This research describes intructional process that uses Mapping Concept Intructional Strategy and Picture Media of globalization subject matter to increase activities and learning outcomes of students. In general, the problems identified in teaching Civics at SDN 1 Tampo Banyuwangi was that the teachers tended to use teacher-centered-learning so teachers dominated the class without any teaching media. This study is aimed to the fourth grade students at SDN 1 Tampo Banyuwangi which consists of 19 students. This research was a classroom action research, while the teaching learning process is conducted by the teacher as participant. This research used observation, interviews, tests, and documentation as the data. The data were analyzed by using qualitative analysis techniques. Based on mapping concept intructional strategy and picture media, the students were able to find the relevant concepts in the material to form a meaningful relationship in order to make them easier to understand the materials. In conclusion, mapping concept intructional strategy and picture media can increase student's activities and learning incomes.
