Abstract

Abstract. The learning process presented by biology teacher of grade X Senior High School 2 Tanggul Jember not involve the students’ active participation. It caused the low student learning outcomes. One of alternative solution to this problem is application of SPICS learning model. SPICS learning is expected to enhance students' motivation and learning outcomes of Grade XD Senior High School 2 Tanggul Jember on Virus sub topic. Students motivation were measured using an ARCS questionnaire. This study used qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results showed that students' motivation increased by 18.86% on aspects of Attention; 7.02% on aspects Relevance; 10.09% on Confidence aspect, and 17.76% in the aspect Satisfaction. From student learning outcomes, an increase of 21.05% is obtained on cognitive aspects, as well as an average increase of 10 points on affective aspects.
