Teknik Handheld dalam Meningkatkan Unsur Dramatik Suspense pada Film Don't Breathe

Abstract

Film  merupakan hasil karya seni berupa serangkaian gambar yang bergerak sehingga menghasilkan sebuah ilusi gambar. Dalam film terdapat berbagai macam genre, salah satunya adalah genre horor. Film horor menyuguhkan ketakutan, kengerian dan ketegangan kepada penontonnya, itu disebabkan adanya suspense pada film tersebut. Suspense dapat terjadi dengan adanya peran sinematografi yang sesuai dengan narasi dalam penyampaiannya. Untuk mendukung terciptanya suspense ada banyak teknik pengambilan gambar yang dapat dipakai salah satunya dengan teknik handheld. Film Don’t breathe adalah salah satu film dengan klasifikasi horor yang menyajikan ancaman, teror dan ketakutan pada penonton. Film bergenre horor ini disutradarai oleh Fede Alvarez yang dirilis pada Agustus 2016, teknik pengambilan gambar pada Don’t breathe dominan menggunakan teknik handheld pada tiap adegan yang mengandung suspense.

Film is the result of a work of art in the form of a series of moving images that produce an illusion of images. In films there are various genres, one of which is the horror genre. Horror films present fear, horror and tension to the audience, due to suspense in the film. Suspense can occur with the role of cinematography in accordance with the narrative in its delivery. To support the creation of suspense, there are many shooting techniques that can be used, one of them is the handheld technique. Film Don’t breathe is one of the films with horror classification by presenting threats, terror and fear to the audience. This horror genre film directed by Fede Alvarez released in August 2016, the shooting technique on Don't breathe dominant uses handheld techniques in every scene containing suspense.
