Teknik Move in dalam Menggambarkan Karakter Utama pada Film Moana

Abstract

ABSTRAK

Moana adalah film animasi layar lebar ke 56 yang diproduksi oleh Walt Disney berdurasi 107 menit. Film Moana menceritakan tentang anak gadis dari kepala suku etnis Polinesia yang terpilih mengemban tugas untuk mengembalikan batu pustaka yang hilang milik dewi Te Fiti. Peneliti menggunakan teori Blain Brown untuk menganalisis karakter utama melalui teknik move in dan teori Minderop yaitu karakterisasi metode langsung dan tidak langsung. Metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, menjadi langkah yang digunakan oleh peneliti untuk mendapatkan hasil penelitian berupa teknik move in dalam menggambarkan karakter tokoh utama pada film Moana. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa pembentukan watak tokoh pada film Moana yaitu Moana seorang gadis pemberani, melalui karakterisasi yang terdapat pada aspek naratif dan teknik move in terdapat pada aspek sinematik. Pembentukan karakter Moana tidak hanya diperoleh melalui teknik move in, aspek sinematik lainnya seperti setting, acting, lighting dan lain sebagainya juga berperan penting dalam pembentukan karakter tokoh utama.

ABSTRACT

Moana is the 56th widescreen animated film produced by Walt Disney in 107 minutes. The Moana film tells the story of the chosen daughter of the ethnic Polynesian tribal chief who has the task of returning the lost libraries belonging to the goddess Te Fiti. The researcher used Blain Brown's theory to analyze the main characters through move in techniques and Minderop theory, direct characterization and indirect characterization. Qualitative descriptive research method, is a step used by researchers to get the results of research in the form of move in techniques to describe the main character in the Moana film. Based on the results of this study, the researcher concluded that the character formation of the Moana film, Moana, a brave girl, through characterization found in the narrative aspects and move in techniques found in the cinematic aspects. The formation of Moana characters is not only obtained through move in techniques, other cinematic aspects such as setting, acting, lighting and others also play an important role in forming the main character.
