ANALISIS MENURUNNYA PRODUKSI UDARA BERTEKANAN PADA MAIN AIR COMPRESSOR GUNA MENUNJANG KELANCARAN PENGOPERASIAN MESIN INDUK KAPAL MV LUMOSO ALAM

Abstract

In the activities of goods transportation services at sea, sea transportation tools in the form of ships are needed. The smooth operation of the ship depends on the condition of the main engine and the support of the auxiliary machinaries that are working properly. Where the initial crusting system of the main engine requires highpressure air, the air comes from the Air Compressor. The purpose of this study is to determine the cause of the fracture of the piston ring and plate in the valve of the main air compressor in the KM bulk ship. Lumoso Alam. In this study using qualitative descriptive method, for data collection using observation, interviews, documentation studies, and literature studies. The result of this research is that the quality of lubricating oil needs to be considered so that its function runs well, namely coating the friction caused by the piston with cylinders, and it is necessary to pay attention to the working hours of the piston ring. And to carry out maintenance on the air filter according to working hours to extend the life of working hours from the plate on the valve.

Dalam kegiatan jasa pengangkutan barang di laut, diperlukan alat transportasi laut berupa kapal laut. Kelancaran pengoperasian kapal tergantung pada kondisi mesin induk dan dukungan pesawat-pesawat bantu yang bekerja dengan baik. Dimana sistem pengerak awal mesin induk membutuhkan udara bertekanan tinggi, udara tersebut berasal dari Pesawat Bantu Kompressor Udara utama (Air Compressor). Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui penyebab patahnya piston ring dan plate pada katup (valve) kompresor udara di kapal Curah KM. Lumoso Alam. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode Deskriptif Kualitatif, Untuk pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah kualitas minyak pelumas perlu diperhatikan agar fungsinya berjalan baik, yaitu melapisi gesekan yang ditimbulkan oleh piston dengan silinder, serta perlu diperhatikan jam kerja dari piston ring. Dan melakukan perawatan pada filter udara sesuai jam kerja untuk memperpanjang umur jam kerja dari plate pada katup (valve).
