PENGEMBANGAN PERANGKAT PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA DENGAN PENDEKATAN KOOPERATIF LEARNING TOGETHER (LT) DAN BERORIENTASI PADA PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER SISWA
Abstrack. The objectives of this study are to find out the process and the results of the development of characterized learning tools by using learning together cooperative approach on statistics topic which fulfills the criteria of valid, practical, and effective; and also to find out the process and the results of the development of characterized learning tools by using learning together cooperative approach on statistics topic to the students’ character building (thorough, cooperative, and self-confident). The type of this study is development research. Subjects of the study are experts, teachers, and the students of IX A of SMP Negeri 1 Kapongan. The data of this study were collected by means of validation sheets, observation sheets, questionnaire, and tests. The data were then analyzed descriptively. Learning tools that are developed include: lesson plan, students’ learning material, students’ worksheets, and evaluation test. The quality of learning tools is reviewed according to four aspects: validity, practicality, effectiveness, and character building. Learning tools validity is based on the validators’ review, the practicality is based on the analysis of teachers’ activity, and the effectiveness is based on the analysis of students’ activity, students’ response questionnaire, and students’ evaluation. According to the review of the theory of models of learning tools development, the chosen model is 4D (four-D) model given by Thiagarajan, Semmel and semmel. The process of learning tools development consists of four steps: defining, planning, developing, and disseminating. In this study, the disseminating step is not conducted since the implementation of learning tools is still on trial phase, which is a form of development process to test the validity and reliability of the instrument which is going to be used.Prototype 1 characterized mathematics learning tools based on cooperative learning together results in validity coefficient (α) for syllabus 0.97 which means valid with a category of very high, the lesson plan’s validity coefficient is 0.85which means valid with a category of very high, students’ learning material validity coefficient is 0.86 which means valid with a category of very high, students’ worksheetsvalidity coefficient is 0.90which means valid with a category of very high, evaluation tests’ validity coefficient is 0.92 which means valid with a category of very high. Thus, this instrument is fit to be used as teaching resources. After going through field tests, it is known that a) mathematics learning tools using learning together cooperative model oriented to character building has reached practical criteria, reviewed both from successfulness of learning and teacher’s activity; b) LT cooperative learning oriented to character building is effective, based on students’ activities, students’ questionnaire, and evaluation tests. These conclusions show us that LT cooperative learning oriented to character building gives positive effects towards students’ creative thinking ability and students’ character building, so that it fits to be used as teaching resources.
