Basanan dan Budaya Kopi di Banyuwangi
Abstract
This article discusses the coffee culture and basanan in Banyuwangi. The data in this article came from
a variety of sources, i.e.: books, vcd of songs, interviews, direct observation, and video service, social
media, website, blog and search engines in the internet. Coffee and Banyuwangi culture has become an
integral and reflected in art and culture of Banyuwangi and the everyday life of the people of
Banyuwangi. The indigenous people or Using ethnic of Banyuwangi call coffee as wedang ireng. It
shows that they understand that the coffee is black, if not black is not coffee instead of its name. With a
cup of coffee, Using ethnic hope happy in heart. "Cemeng kopine, seneng atine." Basanan is still often
presented in a variety of cultural performances in Banyuwangi as in gandrung dance performances,
and other arts like drama performance Jinggoan. In addition, there is also coffee phrases in the song
lyrics written in Using language.
