Abstract

Abstract. Inquiry approach is an approach that stimulates the students to think, to analyze a problem till they find its solution. This approach fostering the skills to see the exact reasons of a problem which the end can be find how to solve it. The science inquiry-based approach is expect to improve the student’s ability of intelectual, psycomotoric, and affect.Thus, this research is devote to the development of the learning materials of science inquiry-based approach on the sub subject of biotechnology in grade 9th. Development of the learning materials refers to the 4-D (four D) model. The resulting product in the development of the learning materials is a students book. This research is using quantitative and qualitative data analyze Based on the result of the research showed that the validation result of the expert validator and user validator were in very valid category with averages value 84,01%. From the result of limited test, the students said the level of readability and difficulty of learning materials by 88,06% an then averages 95,37% students responded positively to the learning materials which developed.
